West Java is a name of province in Java island with Bandung as it's capital city. The development of history shows that west java belongs to the first province which was formed in Indonesia territory. The West Java Province was established based on the Law Legalization Number: 11. Year: 1950. West Java is a province with the most populous people in Indonesia. The part west of this province is straightly bordered by the Special Province of Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. The West Java Province in 2000 was separated with the new Banten Province, which is located in west part. 

West Java has experienced the development significantly more than three decades. Recently, the improvement of modern economy is characterized through the increase of hospitality and manufacture industry. Manufacture contributes the major income of infestation. Almost half of four non oil manufacture is located in West Java.  According to the statistic data of West Java's income, this province had obtained RP. 231. 764 billion (U$ 27. 26 billion) in 2003, donated more than 14 until 15 percent of national income of Indonesia. It is the highest income of province in Indonesia. 

West Java Province is located in western part of Java Island. It's territory is bordered by Java Sea in north, Central Java in east, Hindia Ocean in south, Banten as well as Special Province of Jakarta in western. 

North sea territory is flatland. In central is a part of mountain area. Ciremay mountain is the highest top mountain in Central Java. The most important rivers there are Citarum and Cimanuk River which flow to Java Sea. 

Most West Java people is Sunda ethnic who speak Sunda language (Sundanese) as their mother tongue. 

The climate of West Java is tropic with the 9 degree Celsius on the top of Parangro Mountain and 34 degree Celsius in North Sea.  

One of the popular tourism attraction is the Dormant Volcano of Tangkuban Perahu. It belongs to tourism object where tourists can hike or ride to the top to view the volcano and put eggs on the hot surface, then you can eat them as cooked eggs.  

West Java Province consists of 17 regencies and 9 cities. In 2000, October, 17th, a few part of this province was established a new province, that is called Banten Province. These are cities which are located in West Java Province include the name of capital:

  1. Husein Sastranegara Airport, located in Bandung City
  2. Nusa Wiru Airport, located in Ciamis Regency
  3. Cibeureum Airport (Air Corps Indonesia Airport), located in Tasikmalaya Regency
